Dayaalu is honored to host our first ever weekend workshop with Sifu Matthew Cohen. Mathew is a master teacher and founder of Sacred Energy Arts, a multidisciplinary approach to health and self-development. His unique fusion of Marital Arts and Yoga is at once ancient, progressive, secular and sacred. His integrated approach to healing is potent and accessible. Mathew will offer three programs Friday night through Sunday afternoon. Attend the full weekend at a discounted fee or attend individual events (if space is available)! Friday, May 26th, 7-9:30pm - Introduction to Sacred Energy Arts
This introduction to Mathew’s unique work will focus on building strength and grace with an emphasis on cultivating stillness in motion through the meditative movement practices of yoga, Qigong and Tai Chi.
Saturday, May 27th, 12:30- 6:00pm - Carrying the Medicine- Self-Care through Internal Arts
Utilizing the foundations of Sacred Energy Arts, Sifu Mathew will lead a day of internal practices to foster greater self-care and self-development. During this program Matthew will explore: Taoist Yoga, Qigong, Form, a beautiful dance that recalibrates the Qi in the body and Push Hands, a two-person game from Tai Chi that teaches valuable life tools.
Sunday, May 28th, 1:00-4:00pm - Breath inside the Breath: A Pranayama Workshop
This workshop focuses on the Taoist Breath, which calms and focuses the mind, and Ujjayii Pranayama, used as the primary breath technique during yogic asana and mediation.
